What: Join us for conversations with technology leaders from Disney, Meta, and Momento! Each speaker will give a concise "TED Talk" style presentation, followed by Q&A.

Zach is a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Disney Streaming overseeing the architecture of the media systems responsible for distributing content and ads to the Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+ applications worldwide. He also works as chair and editor for the DASH/HLS Interoperability Group at the CTA WAVE Project responsible for the DASH/HLS Interoperability specification which aims to bring CMAF functionality and signaling equivalence to DASH and HLS.

This team develops the workflows involved in media ingestion, processing and delivery in a way that optimizes the tradeoffs between costs and quality of experience for billions of users across a diverse range of Meta products.

Khawaja was the VP of Engineering and Product at AWS Elemental - where he owned 7 AWS Media Services. Prior to Elemental, he ran DynamoDB - a large NoSQL database that powers media workflows globally. Khawaja started his career at NASA, building cameras for the mars rovers! Today, he is the CEO/Cofounder at Momento, a real-time data infrastructure company that supports media customers like Paramount, Prosieben, Hokkaido TV, and more.
